First of all thank you all SO much for being so kind to a silly old woman. Your messages to me were very moving and filled with love and I shed a tear or two as I read some of them.
Ok I went to the police today and they assured me even if I had reported it the day I found out everything was missing - there wasn't much they could have done due to the time frame unless I had serial numbers for missing articles, which of course there weren't.
He made me feel very comfortable while I was trying to explain why I didn't report these plates missing - I filled out the form and then he ran them through his computer. Then he burst out laughing!
Seems he has a sense of humour - said he would like to meet the robber trying to flee with GRRANNY plates on his vehicle. That broke my entire outlook and I burst out laughing too. The plates are listed as unattached so that means nobody has them and now they will be shown as stolen if anyone tries to use them.
I'm hoping this is pretty much the end of the nightmare except to see IF I hear back from the letter I sent to the Vice President of the company that owns this building on Friday - I didn't hold back on my feelings in that letter - although I rewrote it 4 times just to take the bitterness out of it. Trust me - I'm not holding my breath - so as it stands now - its over and done (again).
Thank you again my friends - you are truly loved by this old woman!

Just a thought...have you thought of writing a letter to the editor?? If you tell about the loss of your things and the sentimental value of them to you...they may print it and someone may have seen the plates you lost. The plate would be memorable too.
Maybe someone will have a case of guilt??
Hey from one old woman to another...you're not being silly....I truly hope you will soon be able to put this all behind you....
It would be funny to see the police chasing a robber with Grranny plates....LOL
Now I hope you get a good nights sleep and maybe a nice granny nap or two
((((HUGS))))
I hate to hear of your lost plates. You would think they would be smarter than taking license plates. They would be so easy to trace.
Glad the police part is behind you. This is such a bad experience all around. You deserve better days..here's hoping they're right around the corner!
Big Hugs......
