I did it - I walked 2.56 miles tonight and I did it in 35 minutes - and that includes waiting for stop lights and walk signals!! There was one point where my right hip thought about yelling at me but before I left work I took a Tylenol 2 which probably kicked in once I got home..lol I couldn't make it in any less time than 30 minutes last year so it will be interesting to see how long it takes me to get to that point.
I did find myself walking to the beat of whatever I was listening to on my Walkman. We Are Family by Sister Sledge was a perfect beat to walk with, but try walking slow when you are listening to Cher singing Strong Enough, Donna Summer's Hot Stuff or even keep my slower pace to Michael Jackson's Thriller when I was listening to some of these.
One new thing about our new offices we found out today - well 2 things really - they are most definitely NOT sound proof and depending on the wind direction we are literally on the flight path of Pearson International Airport - these planes aren't any more than 200 feet up when they pass over us. It was a bit unnerving the first 4 that flew over us - some big babies up there from our vantage point - having a window beside me I get to see all kinds of things GULP. Oh and 'Garden Boy' showed up this afternoon getting the earth ready for flowers I guess....yum
Just wanted to let you know that I did complete my walk so unless its pouring rain - I will be doing this now until late October. I only need to lose another 40 pounds to reach my final goal. Of course my instructors brought in 2 vanilla smoothies today so that didn't help - I mean - I do have to drink them or it would be insulting to them.....lol

You did excellent with that walk, Wow!
Good for you on being able to do it when weather allows.
Course you can't say no to some goodies brought in the office
A real treat for you as well .. might as well enjoy
Awww am so proud of you
of course you can't say no to the goodies,,, I couldn't say no to thopse donuts that fell onto my plate on Sunday either...
Hey that's great. I'm so happy for you. Do you go to places where you can walk in doors on rainy days?
i did a mile yesterday, but i'm only going to walk three days a week. last night my ankles were swollen really bad. so will have to wait and see what the doctor does about them.
oh, being in the flight plan is something that i remember from my childhood. we lived about 10 minutes from idlewild airport, well it's jfk now in new york and the big jets would come right over our house. boy was that loud!!
keep up the good work with your walking, like your music choices by the way, lol.
