Can I ask for good thoughts for my cat?

Millie never had a bad reaction to a shot before, but yesterday's shot really is causing her problems. She's so sore that when I tried to pick her up this evening, she just wailed and then hissed at me!
She did eat her dinner, and she is walking, although very slowly and stiffly, so I'm trying to see those as good signs and praying she'll be better in the morning.
If only I had realized earlier how sore she was, I'd have called the vet, but by the time I knew there was a problem, they were closed and apparently have no one on call. I don't want to call an emergency vet out of town, because they don't know the history and all and maybe the best thing for Millie is to let her rest instead of trying to get her to a strange vet.
I'm nearly frantic with worry, though. I just don't know how I could go through another cat suffering and maybe dying because of something I did because I thought it would protect her.
I do know that I will never get Millie another distemper shot. I don't think it's required for indoor cats, so I won't take a chance on something like this happening again. I think my vet would agree and respect my wishes, but if not, I'll find a vet who will.
Please, if you don't mind, send a few prayers and good thoughts her way. We both need them.

Oh, Ann, I just want to hug you right now. Bless your heart, I can so understand how worried you are. I will of course pray for your sweet Millie furbaby as soon as I finish this message. Will be waiting to hear tomorrow that she is feeling better and doing well.

Oh dear- this sounds like the shot went into the wrong area. I actually had this happen to one of my pups and in the end we had to have her put down at 6 weeks - she couldn't move her leg at all - it was like it was paralized.

Well, she seemed better this morning, but didn't quite make it when she tried to jump onto the counter as I got her food. I just went to steady and comfort her a bit, not even pick her up,

good thoughts coming millie's way.
Find a way to get her into a small cardboard box and take her that way. I hope that helps.
