I have a weekend visitor...

guess who?  Miss Coffee.   Am I happy?  Yep.   Ds and gf called to ask if I could watch her until Sunday night (I know she'll be here Sunday night too as ds and dh have to catch an early morning flight on Monday.   We went to see MIL/FIl who arrived from their trip last night..  They have a small house and garden and I was able to let Coffee off her leash to wander around the lawn, she loved it, we also played a bit of ball and chase so that she could run "full speed".  I think she got overtired if that's possible,, she's wanting to sleep but lays down gets up lays down gets up, wandering around.  Now I checked her feet as she was sleeping and noticed that one of her pads on the hind paw is cut.  She walks OK but won't let me touch it.  I sprayed some paw "aloe vera" on it,, so hope it helps,, is one supposed to do something about that? Should I hightail it up to the vet?

Well dh's brother stopped by while we were there, (eye roll, can't stand him) and he had never seen Coffee before, and he started barking at her , stomping loudly right next to her, clapping his hands, making loud noises to scare her, so she started barking and crying.... why do people do that?  they have invited all of us over for BBQ on Monday night,, I have no idea why as we all can't stand each other...

Sunday we are going to a brunch in a garden,  I was a bit worried that dh had forgotten,, but he said,, " we're bringing Coffee with us".   LOL   I have seen pets there before but not many. It's very rustic and there are just picnic tables etc nothing fancy.

As a surprise for MIL yesterday,  I planted some  geraniums in and  along her front walkway and hung a petunio basket in her window.  As we sat there today,  she was telling me how much she loved the plants and flowers that her maid had planted while she was gone.  Gee, that was weird,,, so after she went on and on about it,, my dh said,,, "It was Suzan that planted those for you ...."    zipppp  She was kinda embarassed but I took it in good stride.  REally glad she was pleased with them.

So that was my day,,, how was yours?

Awww..you got your furbaby with ya..I know you're happy! Found some good information about the cut pad on Coffee's foot..interesting for me to read too. Sounds like you're doing one of the things that is suggested. I expect keeping an eye on it for infection is best....

Your not so dear BIL sounds like a jerk!! My not dear at all BIL..brother of my last husband..is a jerk too. I call him my idiot BIL..not to his face of course..LOL!! I would make it through life perfectly fine if I never have to see him again!! I hope you can get out of going to the BBQ! I don't know why some people act like idiots around pets and kids too..they seem to know instinctivly exactly what not to do and that is what they do do. Strange!

Hope things go well having Coffee at the brunch tomorrow. That is something I would never want to do with my dog as it's too much trouble keeping an eye on them, distracting from conversations.

Sounds like a wonderful day, Suzan.

Yesterday was good. Career Girl and I went out for a while. Then hubby and I spent time cleaning the garage, maintaining vehicles and working in the yard a bit. I did laundry and other household chores. We all played Guitar Hero; Career Girl when to a movie with a friend and hubby and I went out so he could have a hamburger.
