Fun time at Starbucks

I meant to tell you that yesterday we were coming home and passed the new opening of a hotel on the main street over by us.   On one side, they opened a huge Starbucks.  Since it was the opening day, we thought oh this can be fun.  It was so we called ds (who works not to far from there) to meet us to have a coffee.  Well he had to  leave off a box for cargo right behind where we were so he agreed to stop by.  As soon as he arrived , Everything was free.  Can you imagine,,, I don't know how the openings are over where you are, but this was soooo cool.  I like Starbucks (as it brings a bit of home to me) but it's so pricey.   Here's what we had at the shop,,, 2 coffees each, I had some brownies and dh had a mango freeze and roll of some sort , then I had apple crumb cake, and a mango freeze.  Then I said to ds ,,,, go order yourself some stuff, of course the line was out the door by then (I mean "free food and STarbucks coffee " really draws a crowd LOL).  I was standing up by the register and the clerk said "what would you like ?" (oh too good to be true: no wait for us! )   So ds did his ordering and  came back with  3 bags of goodies. He was really having a good time, so he got 3 huge chicken salad sandwiches, carrot cake, petit fours, brownies, croissants with cheese, 3 mango freezes, 3 "grande lattes, apple crumb cake, and chicken curry wraps.  They put everything in these little to go boxes and then bagged. Amazing.  We must have chowed down on at least $45 worth of goodies.

Just had to tell you,, it was so lively and so much fun. Need I say he and gf had a real neat dinner... oh and the neatest thing was they gave him 2 GC's for anything he wants including the grande coffees good until December!

It sounds like a lot of fun. Would you believe, I've never been in a Starbucks? We have one in town, but I like a little local cafe more for coffee and tea and stuff - when I get coffee "out". But if it were all free, you can bet I'd be in line for that!

Even though it's an American chain I've only been in the ones over here.

Wow..That's a *huge* amount of freebies!! I'm certain they never do that here where I live! I've only been in one Starbucks once here as their coffee is too bitter and strong for me. Sounds like you had a fun time and nice your son got the gift cards too!
