My DH and I just finished watching "Nights In Rodantha" with Richard Gere and Diane Lang. This is a highly emotional love story. It takes place in an old large inn on the beach of the coast of North Carolina. As their love begins and then grows, it is beautiful and wonderful and all you'd want a love story to have. The scenery is beautiful and especially for those of us, like me, who love the ocean coastline.
They both have been left by their spouses and are divorced and have problems with children. The story is especially meaningful to those of us who have found a second chance of love after a major breakup..or death..in our lives.
Warning...Then the story rips your heart out and leaves you sobbing! I am worn out by what happened next. I now have a headache, my nose is sore from blowing, and I am angry at the writer who did what they did. It puts me in mind of "Message In A Bottle".."Prince Of Tides".."The Notebook"..and other wonderful love stories that break your heart.
Still, though, I'm glad I watched this beautiful love story.
Teri asked me to give my view of the movie as she had read the book. I feel a bit better after talking about it, but still sad. Just wanted to let any of you know who have not seen the movie and are thinking about seeing it what to expect for I had no idea and was blindsided by it.

Oh, yes, I own "Under The Tuscan Sun" and J & I watched it again just recently. Love it!! Another good one is "A Walk In The Clouds" with Keanu Reeves..leaves you smiling. ;-) I need to buy that one too. I don't buy very many movies, but these are two of my fav's, so it needs to be added to our permanent collection.
I'll tell you what, I was so angry with Nicholas Sparks after Rodantha was over that if he was here, I would have given him a good chewing out!! That movie did not have to end that way!!
