pack, unpack, pack unpack, stay go stay go...  now you see why I'm frazzled   LOL

FIL is supposed to get out of the hospital on Monday or Tuesday and will continue to recuperate at home. So I said to dh (who was really really disappointed not going)  ,,, that FIL is perfectly OK at home  making his demands on MIL and not my dh. He doesn't need us and if then, sil should take a few days from work and come to town and do her part.  He liked the sound of that.  My ds is still off on the weekend and we have Coffee duty.  Since it's getting so close to our leaving to Munich I was thinking we could only go for a mini 4 dayer,,, then I had a long talk with my ds. He said he felt we really needed to go a bit longer and that he was fine with his business (even though it's his biggest shipment arriving ) and that he is OK with Coffee at work and we should go and have a good time.  So then I thought about it, and thought  "What the Heck!"   So we decided to leave on June and and stay one week which brings us back to town on the 8th late at night and we then leave for Munich on the 12th. So we are going, I'm kinda excited, (let's hope it all works out this time).

Oh and btw, you'll all be proud of me!  I did not go once to the hospital to visit. I did call him once to voice my concern but didn't call MIL at all. Dh didn't see any reason why I should either.  FIL has shingles but is not "sick" or anything, no more pains either...  so haven't seen MIL this past week either,,, it felt soooo good.. didn't even call her.   Poor dh as been there everyday and called at night too,  good son... but  FIL sure makes him run around.    ;O)

Now that is peculiar, as far as they said and what I've read, once you've had shingles you don't get it again...

Oh I feel so bad for your fil....poor guy.
Sounds like he should have a cane or better yet a walker...he may not like it but it's so much safer for him.

Ann, I remember reading (somewhere) that if you can start the treatment of zovirax within the first 48 hours on the first bout of shingles the likelihood of it recurring was close to zero. After that the chances rise depending on the time elapsed after the
