As you know Diane is off work with her broken wrist for another 6 weeks or so. She's broken ribs, she's broken ankles, arms, legs, toes... yadda yadda yadda. I have often called her a klutz and teased the hospital is going to be investigating Harry for abuse if she keeps going to ER with broken bones - which co-incidentally the last time they DID ask. Its gone so far as for me to tell her to make sure she takes her cell phone with her when she goes to the bathroom or have a shower and leave the phone on the floor - its no good if you are lying on the floor and your cell is on the sink - you just never know what will happen to you.
Now she has some news that can't be fixed with a bandage and she has been withholding this from everyone - her family, friends and until 2 weeks ago even me. Only Harry knew about this and because Fran has been such a special friend to both Diane and me throughout the years I did let her know what was happening.
Diane has been diagnosed with early Parkinsons. I've had my little cry - at least I thought I was 'prepared' for the doctor visit today but its still a shock. Quite obviously we were hoping this doctor was wrong.
She's suffered through thyroid cancer, her lupus which made its ugly return in recent months, up to and including heart disease when she ended up almost 'leaving us' last year.
When Diane finally digests this latest nightmare - she's going to need all our support and I know you gals will give it to her. There is no 'up side' to this - but the only thing I could tell her was that this was caught early. She has to have more tests to see where they will go from here.
I'm feeling very far away today. We also need to think about Harry - he's had some very serious health problems as well.
I just felt like putting this photo here of happier times when they finally came to Canada in September at the top of the CN tower. And something else you didn't know - Harry put off having cancer surgery to make this trip. You guys have to know how I feel about these two people - words just don't say enough.

Great - now I'm shedding more tears!

Oh my dear god !!!
Ouuu..this has made me teary too for all of you. When one among

Wow, not what I was expecting to read. And I'm sure it's not the diagnosis that Diane was expecting to hear.

I had no idea so much was going on in dianes life!! We might have to get her a medi chair with roll bars!
seriously...you are right about early detection. Grandad had it and still had agreat life. Gardened(shared it with the whole community!, golfed(less at on time every year), and cooked (till the bottle was done).
Keep us updated, will you!
Rusty ,you and Diane already know how I feel....
You are so right about "they caught it early" and that is
