. . . Dh and I went to the local Humane Society in response to a picture of a sweet kitty face on Petfinder. The sweet face belonged to a little gray two year old cat named Millie. She was sitting toward the back of the cage with a very non-sweet expression, glaring at the other cats, who were all trying to get my attention. The person who showed us Millie said she had just weaned a litter of kittens (she didn't look big enough to have had kittens!) and that she HATED other cats. They told us they couldn't put her in the "playroom" with any other cats or she'd attack them! By then, Millie realized we were looking at her and had put the sweet face back on - along with the loudest purr I have ever heard come out of a cat. I took her out and held her and she purred even louder and rubbed her face on mine and did her best to convince me to take her. ...in between hissing and snarling and growling at the other cats. I asked how she was with dogs, since we still had Smokey, and when they said she was fine with dogs, I was sold and convinced that this teeny cat (she only weighed 7 pounds!) would be enough cat for me. We took her home and, after giving Smokey the once over and deciding he could stay, Millie became head of the household.
Since I don't know her actual birthday, only that she was 2 when we got her, I celebrate both her b'day and adoption day on July 14.
So Happy Birthday to my Millie! Does this pic look like a 10 yo cat??

I'll give her some canned food - if she wants it. She really likes her dry food and sometimes acts like I'm trying to poison her if I give her wet cat food. We'll see, lol. And I'm giving her a new Cat Dancer. It's a toy that she likes but her old one is pretty ragged.
Other than that, she will do the same things she always does . . . Whatever she wants!
