Do NOT lie down!!!

I have gotten this information before and you probably have too, but it's good to keep reminding ourselves so we may remember if this happens to us or our loved ones.......

TO ALL AGES.  EVEN THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE NOW NEARING ONLY  50!!
I HAD NO IDEA YOU SHOULD NOT LAY DOWN. Editing to say... This part is incorrect I just found out. It has been found that..."There appears to be no difference between the outcomes of heart attack patients that lie down versus those who remain upright."

Why keep aspirin by your bedside?

About Heart Attacks

There are other symptoms of an heart attack

besides the pain on the left arm.

One must also be aware of an intense pain on the chin, as well as nausea and lots of sweating, however these symptoms may also occur less frequently.

Note: There may be no pain in the chest during a heart attack.

The majority of people (about 60%) who had an heart attack during their sleep, did not wake up  However, if it occurs, the chest pain may wake you up from your deep sleep.

If that happens, immediately dissolve two aspirins in your mouth and swallow them with a bit of water.     CALL 911  do NOT lie down

Unlock the front door

Afterwards:

 - phone a neighbor or a family member who lives very close by

 - say "heart attack!"

 - say that you have taken 2 aspirins.

 - take a seat on a chair or sofa near the front door, and wait for their arrival and...

~ do NOT lie down ~ (Again, this part is incorrect I just found out. Should have checked it out before I posted this. Sorry.)

A Cardiologist has stated that, if each person, after receiving this e-mail, sends it to 10 people, probably one life can be saved!

I have already shared the information -- What about you?

Do forward this message; it may save lives

I just looked it up..should have done that in the first place!! I know that 99.9% of information coming from email forwards is wrong or partially incorrect. For some unknown reason, I didn't check it out this time..and it is only partially right. It has been found that..."There appears to be no difference between the outcomes of heart attack patients that lie down versus those who

It was still good advice and something to remember if one should ever be in that situation.

It has to be Aspirin. It thins the blood. Baby Aspirin will work too. You must chew it to get it into the blood stream faster. Time is of the utmost importance. I gave George 2 Aspirin and the DR. said it probably saved his life. I give the credit to God!

I know this because my DF had 3 heart attacks and a stroke in one day and was given an 18 % chance to live. I prayed like crazy along with buckets of tears and God gave him a second chance. That was over 5 years ago.

I don't remember when I was so afraid! Great advice.... Please heed. Hugs, Lu

I will heed it! I'm going to get real aspirin today and put it in my nightstand.

Ann, George has a stint as well. The DR. said 1 baby aspirin would do the trick 81 mg. but all I had was Bayer for adults and made him chew it immediately as I was dialing 911. Thank God they got here less than 3 minutes after I called. Hugs, Lu

P.S. How's come when I voted for Gage the other day it was 16 votes and only 8 when I voted this a.m? Weird, huh?

Tom and I both take baby aspirin once a day, but it's coated, so wouldn't be chewable. I'm keeping a bottle of chewable aspirin in my night stand.

Chewable!! That's why they had chewable for sale too when I bought a bottle yesterday! I thought it was just for people who have trouble swallowing pills. Okay, thanks for this good advice, I'll buy another bottle of chewable to keep beside the bed.

I hadn't bought aspirin of any kind in many years, so was surprised at all the choices on the grocery shelf yesterday. The "baby" aspirin is the 81mg low dose aspirin sold in the adult or regular pain reliever section of the drugs area. Same dosage, and that's what I bought to take one of every night from now on. Or until "they" say they'vd discovered it's not a good idea. Wish "they'd" stop changing their minds all the time..lol!

I'll remember your advice to chew it if having a heart attack. Thank God your husband and your friend survived!
