What do you think?   Is it good manners to text at the dinner table?

Yeah those lights bug me too!!!

I don't mind turning off the phone. Too bad you can't turn off a screaming kid!! LOL!! But here turning off cell phones is so you can't make a bomb go off.

There is no reason, other than an emergency, that anyone should text, read texts, answer or make phone calls. Phones should be turned off or at least silenced during dinner

We have tried talking to her about it,not worth wasting our breath.

It's like the phone is glued to her ear.

It depends! I look to see who it's from and do a quick read to see if it's something that needs immediate action. If not, it can wait.

I only text with my two DD's and my oldest DGD. DGD usually just wants to chat, so I let her's wait. Sometimes my DD's need a reply right away...like when DD1 finds she can't get away from work on time and needs me to pick the kids up from child care. That's important enough that I do a fast reply immediately. No one feels it's rude for I tell them what it was about and they'd do the same thing if it was their kids too.
