How not to start the day.

First, some background: I must have it as dark as possible in my bedroom, and my clock/phone display was too bright. So years ago, Tom cut a little dark plastic piece I put over the display and it dimmed it nicely.
Now: Last night the display was suddenly bright again, so after T left for work I went in and started looking around for that little plastic film. I saw it was under the bed. When I reached for it, I scratched my hand on something, but didn't think it was anything to be concerned about.
I was puttering around with the thing, cleaning it and sticking it back on the clock, when I noticed a drop of blood on the nightstand. Surprised ("blood??"), I looked at my hand and was horrified at the sight! ("Blood!") My hand and wrist were covered in blood and there was some on my robe cuff - and the floor - and in a moment (as I reached for a kleenix), the phone, lol.
After some mopping and washing (and bleeding in the bathroom sink), it turned out to be a longish cut on the base of my hand. Eventually (hard to open a big bandaid with a bleeding right hand and a left hand not used to doing much), I got a big "overkill" bandage on it, because it would have taken several small ones and that's all my left hand could manage to open.
From what I can tell now, it's fine. It stopped bleeding fairly quickly (sure, after I get the bandaid on) and looks like a clean cut that will heal without even a mark.
So, how was your morning? LOL!

I woke up with a headache but it's sure better than seeing blood;-)
That had to be scary realizing you were bleeding like that. Thank goodness it wasn't more serious...like needing stitches.
Did you ever check to see what
Nothing like a little stress to get your day started!! LOL!! Good thing you didn't need stiches!!
My day started with a call from my brother that woke me up. He forgets that I am an hour earlier here in my time zone!! We have my two youngest grands here too, no school today, so I had to tend to them.
Here's hoping the rest of your day is less eventful!
