Well, most of the day was fun...........

As you probably know, dh and I spent most of the day with 4 other couples yesterday.  We had a really good time. The lunch was very good, the play was hilarous, the company was the kind of fun old friends who know each other well have.

And then . . . I tripped over a curb in the parking garage and fell on my face!

Well, okay, not on my face, but close, lol.  I tripped, fell on one knee, then somehow landed on my side with my arm under me.  My knee was fine - just two tiny marks, but my side and shoulder blade area really are sore today. I probably bruised a rib with my arm and pulled a few muscles in my shoulder.

But I managed to get past the embarrassment of the fall, with the help of my friends, who joked about it (good naturedly) and made me feel a little better about it.  They said they would have given me a 10, but had to take a point off because I didn't stick the landing, LOL!

Over at the neighbor's house, we talked and laughed and carved pumpkins and had a nice time and ended up with some good looking jack-o-lanterns to take home.

All in all, I think a wrenched shoulder and bruised ego is a good trade for the fun I had.

OK if it's just sore and bruised,, but you do have full range of motion on that shoulder right?

Yes, I can move it - carefully - just about any way I need to, so I think it'll be fine in a few days.

**But that's me. If there's anything that can be tripped over, chances are, I'll trip over it!**

We both checked, but didn't find anything sharp enough to cut me like that!

Glad you had a great time with your friends, but not good on that fall!! Falling at our ages is so frightening! I mean, as you're going down, you're wondering what's going to break!! Thank goodness you're "only" bruised! Funny on the not sticking it..LOL!!

Enjoy those jack-o-lanterns! Here are some tips to keep them from rotting too fast......

Oh, and there are some..ummm.."interesting" links at the bottom of the page too..LOL!! I didn't click on any of them, so don't know what kind of tips you'd find there......

LOL, thanks, and I have rerun it in my mind, thinking maybe if I'd taken a bigger step when I stumbled - or two steps - or faster steps... I was so close to catching myself! I keep thinking there should have been a way to avoid the fall, lol.

LOL, yep, it happens to everyone at some time or other, I suppose, but it's no less embarrassing to the one it happens to. (although, it is funny, if you aren't the one falling, lol).
