Its been a while eh?

Hi girls, I'm so sorry I haven't been here but things have not been good for me and I don't really feel like being 'friendly' - I'm sure you can understand my feelings when you read the following.

I lost my job several weeks ago with no severence pay because of the way the idiot boss worded the 'goodbye' letter - so I was left with nothing after 5 years of service.  I cancelled my cruise and am living off that money right now.  I will get unemployment benefits for one year so that will help but the first cheque doesn't come in until the end of October, plus I'm applying for my Canada Pension Plan - which we can only do when we have been unemployed for 30 days if we aren't 65.  I can apply for that on November 1.  I am also being forced to move from my building (or stay just to get evicted in the middle of January....) and have decided almost from the beginning of this nightmare - that I would move to the same village that my grandchildren live in - the rent up there is less than half of what I pay here.

Because of my age and disability - getting a job is almost virtually impossible - with the unemployment being so high these days - there are over 600 people going for every single job out there.  I've decided to take early retirement and with all my figuring, I can handle this financially but of course there will be no spending.  I think what bothers me most is that I had just finished buying an entire fall wardrobe for work since all my fall wardrobe had been stolen as you gals know.  That's a lot of wasted money - but I'll look good sitting on my couch, watching the soaps and eating bon bons...;-)

But everything is what it is and the tears have now passed - now I'm busy with getting everything organized for this huge move 1 1/2 hours north of here - back into snow country - like I didn't get enough snow and freezing blizzards living near Lake Ontario - I have to move north near Georgian Bay and get even more lake effect snow up there.... and I'm scared to death to be doing all of this by myself.

I have some great friends for support - Diane and Fran in particular - but now they've made me leave my beloved Twitter and forced me to cook and raise crops on Facebook - this fate is almost worse than being laid off from that job...lol.....  My 2 sons will each help with moving some stuff and I've hired a moving company to do the actual move for me.

Things will work out regardless of how I'm feeling right now but you guys have also been wonderful and I wanted to let you know why I'm not here.  I will try to pop in but it won't be until after the move in late November.

I hope all of you are doing great and in good health.  I miss my friends here but I won't return until I can be my usual happy goofy self again. On the bright side - my grandkids school is 1 1/2 blocks from my new apartment - I never have to work again and I'm happy to say I can take the furball with me - wait - happy - and - take the furball with me in the same sentence - isn't that called an oximoron??? rofl

I'm sorry to hear about your job and know how stressful that and moving can be, and it is a shame about having to cancel your cruise, but it is really good to see you here again, and to see you're looking at the good things this new era of your life will bring.

Hey, Rusty, in an additional note...I miss your weather reports!! I always look for you on the Wednesday Whines & Woohoos to hear your weather reports, among other things!! Maybe you could at least do that sometimes, so we can still feel your presence. Don't ever let the link be broken......

Oh no Rusty!

I had no idea! Just read on your facebook you were retiring and moving closer to the grandkids! Life sure sucks sometimes, doesn't it!

I too(hanging head in shame, grow the same crops you do. I sent you something today on one of them). Well it is all good though. no bending to pick up anything! Money many not grow on trees...but grows in the electronic games. I have millions in many games. sadly not in life. Maybe in the smaller centers you will meet yourself a gentleman farmer and raise chickens together LMBO!!

Always here for a hug and listening ear!
