I have visions of the insurance companies/governmentl health care to NOT cover it....and women in their 40's will be dying of breast cancer....but then....sounds like they feel 40 year old women are expendable!

Know what? The harm from exposure on a yearly to bi-yearly basis can't be any worse then what we're exposed to day-in and day-out.

We stand in front of microwaves, TVs, computers and other items that produce harmful emissions. We live near, next to, walk by and drive by and under power lines. So much we're exposed and yet so unaware of the backlash and a yearly or b-yearly mammogram is something to be worried about? Gee, guess we'll stop the x-rays of our teeth and other body parts too.

Despite them saying that it is all about curtailing harm, it really isn't. Money talks volumes. Women need to make this a PERSONAL decision as to whether they want to have the mammogram and how often. As long as they are aware of possible side effects, let them decide.

I'll take my chances with doses of radiation every year and hope to hear the words normal and/or benign rather than malignant or metastasized.

I do not agree that women from 40 to 50 don't need a mammogram. Just talk to the countless women in their 40's who had no history of it, yet found out they had it, thanks to a mammogram.
