i checked it all out ...googled. is there anything to do up there? looks pretty desolate. even the ski resorts were a bit aways. oh well...i did see a soccer complex but then he'll have that on base.

Suzan

I drive by the base when i go to minot. The sign as youi go by says Magic City. Why i don't know.

I have been to mcdonalds and harveys fast food resterant. The mexican place. a couple hotel stays. The races. walmart(it is a biggie) and to the menards...the home store.

We are cold here and in minot till march sometime. Then the melt. The floods...ect. Minot is mostly in a valley. you drive in on main and go downhill. you leave to the south going out of the valley LOL a little bit larger than the valley now.

They have what they call bottle stores to buy booze at. they advertize heavily. My friends daughter is in a catholic school there. She drives into the city daily with mom (my friend)

I was looking over Minot's website. It looks like a nice little town with a lot more to do there than one would think! Aside from the longer

There are worse places to be stationed. Back in the 60's one of my BILs was station in Alaska (not sure of the base, though). I'm sure he'll find something to do with his time. There must be people from the area stationed there, or the ones who've been there awhile,
