It's the weekend, what's up? Anyone doing anything fun this weekend? Who's just relaxing, reading, watching movies or tv programs or whatever?
We're having a quiet weekend. Yesterday we met two of J's sisters for lunch. One is Catholic and had to have fish being that it was Friday. I told her they serve fish at almost every restaurant in town, but she wanted to go to a fish market where I've been a few times to buy fish; but have never eaten there before. Well, it was an experience..LOL!!
The place has zero atmosphere besides a few stuffed fish up on a wall here and there. All else is as plain as can be and old..icky old, not nice antique old. The place was *packed*!! You wait on a long line to place your order with the order taker - cashier and then get your own drinks. Then you find seats and good luck with that! After waiting for awile, we were able to move fast when some people were leaving and grabbed a table that seats four. It was *very* noisy there, people were sitting at tables with strangers just to get a place to sit, conversation was very hard for my husband who is very hard of hearing, way too much loud background noise. Thank goodness they didn't have background music playing too!!
After a half hour, they brought our food out, each dinner served in a take out styrofoam container with plastic utensils. Napkins were a roll of paper towels on the table. Interesting..LOL! Well..the food was *delicious*!! I had mahi-mahi, my two sis-in-laws had salmon, J had breaded scallops. All came with steamed veggies that were actually soft like I like them, rice, cole slaw and two hush puppies and there was a sauce in a small container to put on our fish.
Glad I got to have this experience, but not sure I'd like to go there again. If we do, it will be around 3pm when it's not so crowded. I wish J's sisters would remember how hard it is for him to have conversation in loud places!! If I had known how bad it was at this place, I would have asked them to please choose another restaurant.
Today we have no fun plans. I have tint on my hair right now. When it's shampooed off and I'm dressed again, we'll go to Target for our exercise walking. Maybe we'll watch a movie later and I'm going to do some reading. That's about it for today. It's grey, cold and wet outside.
Tomorrow is Sunday school & church as always and out to dinner afterwards. They're having an all church dinner, but we're not sure if we're going. J loves going for Chinse buffet afterwards.
So..what's going on with all of you? Wadda ya doin'??

< eggs and bacon first thing.....>
Yeah well I got a guilty conscience and decided on cereal and a banana instead.
Here it is very normal to sit with others at their table.
Well, I wouldn't exactly say the place was "Cool"..LOL..but the fish was delicious!! John had chips..as in like thick french fries wedges sort of..but we gals all had rice. I didn't look to see if they had vinegar on the table for the chips, but I expect they did as there were several sauces and such.
Interesting about the kookaburras laughing when the sun comes up! Whenever I hear "kookaburras", I think of Girl Scout cookies. I don't know if they sell that type anymore.
Swimming and gardening sounds so nice! We got our association monthly newsletter today. They said the flower beds would be tended to in April and the grass would be cut and chemicals applied in March. Sure sounds good to me!!
We saw "In the Valley of Elah" awhile back and liked it a lot. Good flick and good actors and acting.
Eggs & bacon sounds good! I don't
I know it's common to sit with strangers in Europe, but is it like that in ALL restaurants there? You can't have private conversations with others listening.

I'm waiting for Hot Water Hog #1 to finish his shower so I can clean up the bathroom. Then as soon as Hot Water Hog #2 (daughter) gets showered and made up, we're heading to the airport to drop the husband off and then going to the mall for a while.
