OK - I have horrible credit due to various financial setbacks - most of which are from many, many years ago. I've tried to get a credit card just to get my credit report moving back in the right direction, however, I'm declined by the reputable credit card companies.

I'm tempted to open one of these pre-approved credit card offers where you pay a high annual memebership fee & $6.00 monthly service fee just to begin prooving my credit worthiness again.

Would this be a horrible mistake? Anybody know anything about these credit companies & their offers?
