My BK was discharged in 1/04.

If your report is clean (minus the IIB), there's a thread below, I'll see if I can find it, that talks about BK-friendly creditors. I would definitely try to get a new card. I know I applied for a Washington Mutual and got a $4k limit.

(I BK'd 6/05, and my scores are lower than yours).

Cap1 sucks. lol.

With your scores and your BK being 3 years old....you should be able to apply for more "friendly" cards.

Certainly try a different card but remember, each time you make a request, it posts on your credit bureau as an inquiry - too many inquiries and #1 it lowers your score and #2 the companies know you are shopping around and may not consider you....so try to make all the calls in the same day.

Maybe I am the only one thinking this, but you need to go to your HR department and ask for an advance for travel.

Cap 1 stinks is right. With your credit score you should be paying around 10% or less. Pay off the account immediately. Start looking for another credit card company that will respect you with a lower rate. Better yet respect yourself and get a prepaid debit card for travel and stop messing with the credit card companies all together.
