Happy Monday!

Quick! Do you know what your deductible is on your auto insurance? Increasing your deductible might save you a pretty penny on your premiums - maybe more than you could save by clipping grocery coupons all year.

We got our policy in the mail recently and I skimmed through it (our new cards were buried on page 3!) then handed it off to Dave. And he called to add the new car to it when we were still at the dealership. I haven't seen the details of that, yet. One more item on my list of things to do, I guess.

We adjusted ours when we moved last month. I was a little upset cause our deductiable was 2K, and in Mississippi we can only have a 1K deductiable. I still think it is crap but haven't called to verify.

OK, ended up with a great rate!!! Our rate went from $285/mo to $202/mo!!!! Same policy, actually a little bit better! Locked in our rate last night for 1 year. Just in time since my 17 yr. old daughter got a speeding ticket yesterday!! Our rate will not go up for a year! Buy then dd will be 17 and out of high school! BTW, we go to court Wednesday for her speeding ticket. Ugh, kids!! Thank goodness she has a job and will get to pay for every expense of this!!!!

Nice rate! Lucky timing on the ticket, too. LOL.

I have no idea why they have some of the discounts they have and also why they do some of the hikes.

Hey Vanessa,

If you're not with USAA, check them out. I think it's just for military. They had the best rates & deals we found when we switched after we got married. We also have our renters' insurance through them.

Yep everything is with USAA. I've been with them since I bought my first new car, in 2003. They do have the best rates, it just seems wierd to me that they put a cap on the deductiable. KWIM?

I totally agree! Insurance is one of the most irritating things to deal with!!! Not to mention how much information is needed just to get a quote!!

I'm just thrilled we get to save some money!
