We are still learning this budget thing and not good at it yet. So we

are short on money, couldn't mail rent, only have $8 in pocket, frustrated,

and my paycheck didn't come, and it always comes on Thursday.

Ended up crying, mad at DH for being out of town, and feeling miserable. But the

good news is eventually I stopped being a mess, collected all our returnables and

our change jar and drove to Meijer. Because MI has a 10 cent return I ended up with over $20!!! We used to drink pop before we tightened our budget, now it is a treat.

So now I have $28 in my pocket and my state of mind is that much calmer because of it even though I know I could have snowflaked it, but I needed peace of mind more. Still nervous about the budget, but I won't be late on cc's and that is priority.

Good for you! You turned the situation around.

One time we were absolutely broke but we had already agreed to go

to an outdoor concert with some friends. We could have cancelled I guess

but we really wanted to go. So I ran to the bank before they closed and

cashed in our change. We had enough to have a nice evening and not

be stressed out about money. I know we probably could have used it

in a better way but it was a lot of fun. You can't put all

of your money toward debt.

I'm glad things turned out ok for you. It's so stressful to be broke.
