well,

when i first posted on this board, our cc debt was $40,000 and student loans was $20,000. although, our student loans have not gone down much, our cc debt has. The reason student loans has not gone down is because i'm making minimum payments.

as for our cc debt, we currently owe $30,000. my h got a cc offer in the mail for 0%interest until august 2004. i asked him to apply for it. we are currently paying only 3.9% interest for the life of the balance. however, if we can get the 0% interest cc w/no annual fee or transaction fee, I know we can payoff this 30,000 debt by august 2004. I see how much it has helped having the 3.9% interest. i'm so excited.

i'm still not sure if our marriage w/survive. rebuilding after his affair is soooo hard, especially dealing w/the huge amount of debt he put us in. for the sake of my twins, i'm trying to make it work.

i'll keep you all posted.

Mym-

Big hugs to you for at least trying. I cant imagine how hard it must be for you. Also, the constant reminder of the affair everytime you make a payment. Good luck!

Wow, MYM! Way to go! $10,000 is *a lot* to pay off! I'm so proud of you!

I know the marriage thing has been really hard on you, and I really admire how hard you're working on it. I'm glad your dh is working too, and improving. That shows promise.

Just imagine, once your debt is paid off (Aug 2004--that's awesome!), you could easily accrue $40,000 in savings in the same amount of time. Imagine what you could do with $40,000! Retirement, down payment, even take part of it and go on an awesome vacation. You and dh could do something together to bring you closer again.

Keep rockin'!

Blessings,

Heather

That is phenomenal that you've paid off that much already! Wow! Way to go, you're obviously doing a great job at this.

I'm relatively new here, but feel bad for you for the tough marriage situation. It's hard, I know, I wish you the best.
