I know that not everyone holds the same opinion on what for them would constitute debt. So base your response to the poll on your own views.

Also I'd love to hear what everyone would do with the money if it wasn't going towards debt...go ahead and dream about what you'd do with it on the day you became debt free :)

My vote was $1000+, which includes our vehicles and our mobile home - which, if all goes according to plan, will all be PAID OFF by the time we start shopping for a house in 3-4 years!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EDITED FOR DREAMING: Once this is all paid off, every nickel we make beyond basic expenses will go towards a big downpayment for our dream house. After we buy it (at an affordable payment, thanks to our big downpayment) we will use our vacation time to travel & take nice family vacations before our kids are grown & moved out!

I voted by adding up just the minimum payments on everything, and ended up with the $501-750 category. We are so very fortunate that my Mom holds the mortgage on the house and that our house payment is only $200/month.

Even with adding in all the snowflakes, we'd still end up in this slot, lol.

I figure our debt-free date (not including the mortgage)to be mid-2006. After we go over the debt wall to freedom, here's where the money will go:

*Fully fund a 3-6 month emergency fund. That currently would be $15,000+.

*Chunk away money for DD's college. She's a bright kid, and I think she'll get some scholarships, but I'd like to make sure that she will be able to go.

*And then, we're going to set our debt-busting sights on the mortgage and the student loans.

*And after that, you ask? Well, because we've lived like nobody else, we'll be living like nobody else! (thank you, Dave Ramsey!)

I pay about 1000$ a month for debt (student loans, medical bills, CC debt). I would buy a Tiffany heart bracelet, necklace, and a cute little silver Tiffany ring. This totals about 1000$. I have wanted these for like 5 years, and never thought in a million years I'd spend that kind of money on myself.

Then I'd start saving for a down payment on a house.........
