I just saved $350!!! Well, sort of.....

After getting back from my trip a couple of weeks ago (which BTW was great), I decided I wouldn't stop for coffee on my way to work anymore. So far so good.... I've been taking a small swig of our NASTY free coffee at work to get that little caffeine jolt, and I'm saving $1.40 per day. Plus I don't have to rush as much in the morning. Let's hope I can keep this up!

Are you actually placing $1.40 in a jar somewhere? That way you'll be able to physically see it grow!

I hadn't tried giving up the soda yet, but really should. I buy one a day at $1.29 and the local conveniece store so there is an opportunity for me to really save. (I walk to the store from work, and use it as an excuse to get out of the office for a few minutes.) Maybe if I began purchasing generic soda at the grocery store, and bringing it to work, and just taking a short walk in the day to get out of the office I would be able to stick to my guns and not buy them anymore. Hum, baby steps, baby steps!

I wish my husband would stop his monday-friday coffee & butter roll habit ($1.75 each day)
I hope you are saving it somewhere. It will make a good monthly snowflake.

Actually this is a good idea at home too. From time to time, take a cloth and wipe the underside of the machine, where the coffee comes down. If its an institution type of coffee maker, there is also a real good possibility that the little sprayer head will literally unscrew from the machine. If so, unscrew it and then wash the thing very thoroughly. The coffee oils will stick to the sprayer head and the underside of the machine and in both situations those oils turn "ugly" after a while and give the coffee a really bad taste.
Sometimes there is no saving bad coffee at work, but even doing this little bit from time to time can give the coffee a much better flavor.
