(Yet Another) Credit Report Question
| Thu, 09-02-2004 - 4:14pm |
Following on from my other post, pretty much all of the accounts are listed as closed in the comment line.
There are a couple that don't list as closed, but one of them lists "0" credit limit.
However, one of them still lists a credit limit and even though the last activity was in 2001, they reported to the credit bureau in July 2004--about 5 WEEKS ago. Is that unusual? I didn't think they would report on a closed account. I'm SURE I closed it.
What should I do?
Thanks,
Rebecca
PS, I recommend getting your credit report if you haven't lately (or ever)...it was quite interesting and I found things on there that were valid but which I had totally forgotten about...good thing I checked because the one I forgot about was a joint account!

Hi :-)
There are 2 dates on credit reports - one for "date of last activity" and one for "date last reported".
I got my second report yesterday (they took a long time to arrive) and this second one was a lot more detailed and also easier for me to understand. It appeared to have more reported on it.
All the accounts that need to be noted closed are listed as closed on the second report. There are also lots of closed accounts on the second one that are reporting to this bureau this year, so I think it's all good. Everything lists paid, closed per customer request. It's all R1 or R0 (when I closed the account very soon after opening) and M1 or M0. The one R2 was left open long enough to return to R1. I'm content.
