Ok, I am very embarrassed to admit this. But I think I need to in order to make sure I never put myslef in this situation again. About 6 months ago, we were very far behind on our bills and I was desperate to make a payment with the credit card companies, and I set up payments to come out of my daughter's account. (she is 2, and it was a custodial savings.) It had my name on it as well. When I did it, we were desperate and had no savings whatsoever and the creditors were getting worse and worse. I still can't believe I did it, but I was scared and fully had the intention of paying it back. (it was $400, gifts from relatives when she was born) Well, I didn't. In fact, I calculated wrong and the account overdrew. The bank soon closed it with a negative balance of $290.)
I am happy to say that I went into the bank yesterday and paid them in full. I now am going to reopen the account and start paying it back and then some. that's progress right?

Don't beat yourself up over it.

Sometimes we have to do things that we'd rather not in order to stay afloat. I think you did what was best for your family right then. We can only do what we can when we can, When you are able to pay it back, do. maybe that there is your first snowflaking project? (behind an emergency fund..)
Hang in there-

Yes that's progress!!
A lot of my DD's money is in savings bonds so I can't touch it even if I wanted to.
