Still looking for a job....

I'm so disappointed. I found out on Friday that I didn't get the job I was hoping for. It was too good to be true. My staffing recruiter said that they liked me but chose someone else for each of the two positions but that in the future they will consider me if they are looking for fill anymore positions.... :(

So I sent out two more resumes. I think I'm going to network in our church. We have a large church 1900 people and people say that if you don't ask you won't receive...Looks like I'll be asking.

I'm so disappointed. Luckily, my DH makes enough to cover our basic bills and is to get a bonus check in about two weeks. Christmas is bought for except for me, DH and our daughter. I do have some things to be thankful for :) It could be much worse.

I think that the thing that is most frustrating is that I am more qualified to do my husband's job but I put in his application first and he got a call and into training and then I decided to put my application in. I was a scared-e-cat and wanted him to go first I guess. He has awesome benefits (doesn't pay for healthcare premiums for the entire family, his company does that, gets a discount on phone services, cell and Direct TV, only has to work 2 Saturdays a month, gets 2 days vacation this year and he just started in July and qualified for the bonus in August!, prepaid schooling, discounts with major corp like GM and Microsoft, etc, etc, etc.) I so wish that they would call me! He makes more than most 22 year olds and doesn't have a college degree. And all of this is before his commission payment.

Meanwhile I'm having to check the paper for all of the crummy jobs that no one really wants but they all apply for them because the dang job outlook here is bleak. Alot of this town is who you know or who your parents are. Even to get on at the plants around here! Just frustrated! My husband is out of training on Sept 29 so I am hoping that I'll get a call with the new training class. One of the vice-presidents of operations told my husband to call the woman that hired him and tell her to put me on the list per the VP. That was months ago! I guess I just need to learn how to have patience. My husband is going to check and see when the next training class is, I'm crossing my fingers!

I know that I shouldn't care who is more qualified. I just want the job! :) I do know what you mean about the confidence thing though. I do feel more confident when I am not so "needy." We have cut back from our budget that we had before this job. He did take a pay cut when he came to the job but it is only temporary. It is just that he was making commission before and in training he didn't have the opportunity. He should start making commissions soon and we just need to hold out until then. And I am thankful that the basic bills and most of Christmas is bought. I guess I'm just wishful? hmmmm....

Well my husband asked one of the other teachers for his AWANA class and he was told to bring my resume to church Sunday and he would give it to his wife. She is the human resources director for a hospital here and hires for over 200 positions. Things are looking up again. Still trying not to get my hopes up though!
