Wow!

Your post blows me away because:

1. I'm impressed with the follow-through you showed on your student loans (you are a determined lady).

2. The targeted credit card you mention (Visa) just happens to be one of my big bug-a-boos (but it's not first in my line-up). My balance on Visa is $7,900.00 which is a sum comparable to your balance you mention having at the beginning of this year. The fact that you've cut in half is amazingly inspiring for me. I'm inspired to track!! I'm at $182.00 towards my $500.00 emergency fund goal. Unfortunately, I may have to raid it for DD's eyeglasses. It's enough to make me eat a pie - LOL.

3. Your weight loss - ba-bam - I need to lose 60 lbs. You've lost 41.2 lbs since Spring?!

Get out! That's fabulous! Inspiration, again! I've lost weight before and I know my lifestyle is my problem - scarfed a Three Musketeers 30 mins. ago, no exercise to speak of, and as mentioned above the stress of my financial situation doesn't help. Still, I have the tools and the intelligence to combat this problem. Of course, I could say the same thing about my finances and debt (but I have to get over the "how, oh how did I end up here mentality - it drags me down, over and over).

4. And, lastly, creative writing . . .

I miss that. 3 pages a day, huh? I've never thought of setting that type of goal.

Sorry, my post isn't exactly what was asked for but I had to let you know that your reply has made such an impact on me today that I'm going to set a variation of these goals for myself.

Thank you.

1. What is one accomplishment you've made this year that you're proud of? ~ I decided to get back on a career track at work. I got off it 6 years ago to be a better mother (and I had another baby too), but now my family needs the money and I need the challenge.

2. Have you tracked your snowflakes this year? Care to share your y-t-d total? ~ Not snowflaking.

3. Any other accomplishments you've made this that you would like to share? ~ Well, I did FACE my finances this year. I got us on a debt management plan so that we can actually have an end date for this fiasco, and I'm hoping to beat the 5-year timeline. I also joined a new community of people who give retreats for the physically disabled, and that was new and different, so jumping into that is something I'd consider an accomplishment.

Wow, Danni, that is just marvelously inspirational! It sounds like this was a really good year for you because YOU DID SOMETHING. How many people sit around whining?! I hope I can find this post when I'm feeling sorry for myself!

Hi all,

I'm proud of:

1. I paid off all my "outside" debt in March. I still owe family for student loans, but I do have a life insurance policy that will cover that and more if I die before I pay it.

2. I lived without a car from March to mid-September. I rode my bike as transportation or walked.

3. I survived the departure of my bf of 7 + years.

4. I've got a really decent amount of money in my savings account.

5. I've lost about 7 pounds so far this year and hoping for 15-20 more.

6. I paid cash for my "new" old car, and it runs okay

7. I keep using my credit card but I ALWAYS pay the entire balance by the due date. I'm working on not using it to the point where my entire next paycheck goes to paying that balance though--that's why I'm still here!

8. I have gotten rid of a very vast quantity of physical possessions that I neither wanted nor needed, and the spiritual freedom that comes with that is amazing. It was NOT easy to get rid of a lot of the stuff though.

>>I don't really snowflake. I just make sure I pay the entire balance in full.

>>I'm working on doing things for me now, and I think my next challenge or assignment should be to make a budget for myself.
