I have a really long morning routine. I wake up between 5:00 and 5:30am. I get a cup of coffee (Gotta love programable coffe pots). I brush my teeth and go to the gym (5 min from my house). I get home from the gym at 7:00am then I make breakfast. Usually oatmeal, eggs, or something that will hold me until lunch. Then I do dishes and make my lunch to bring to work. I take a quick shower and fix my hair. I don't blow dry it or spend alot of time on my hair..5 min at the most. I'll but a little makeup on, but it usually only takes about 5 minutes. I leave my house by 8 and I'm at work at 8:30.

I could be fast if I wanted to. But I don't like rolling out of bed and going to work right away.

I too have a pared-down minimum morning routine (spf moisturizer; deod; lip balm). The "up" side to being so low-maintenance is that DH *always* notices when I put a little extra effort into my appearance, LOL :)

My mascara has started to irritate my eyes (it's about a year old--ick), so I ordered a new one from a friend who sells Mary Kay. It should be arriving in the mail today and will be an absolute treat to add to my routine!!!

I am very fair, so a light eyeshadow/mascara/blush application goes a looong way!

I am a homeschooling mom, so my morning routine is very very simple too! I usually take showers at night, because who knows if I'll get a chance in the morning, lol, so my getting ready for the day consists of washing & moisturizing my face, brushing my teeth, and putting my hair up. Coffee is also a must!! I'd like to start taking the 3 extra minutes to consistently put on a little makeup, even just some mascara and lipgloss. Another thing I used to do in the AM that I'd love to fit into my morning again is to take 20 minutes or so and read something inspirational, whether a book, the bible, something, to put me in a good mental place to start the day. Thanks for the post, I think I will start tomorrow!!! :o)

Time for myself? whats that? i am lucky if I get a shower in the morning!I work full time, mostly from home, and I have a 2 year old. No sitter! I am lucky if the house is clean, let alone my hair! I am going to start making more of an effort though! thanks for the inspiration!

Ha - I spend way TOO much time on myself in the morning. It started happening a few years ago, when I realized my face needed more than just a wash & moisturizer in the morning. I commented to my husband this summer, "Maybe I should just let everything go, stop coloring my hair and shaving and taking care of my skin and wearing makeup" - his reply was, "You would HATE that, so if you're going to do it, I'm not going to be around!" He's right, of course, I do those things because I like being pretty and I would hate looking at myself in the mirror and seeing all those things I didn't do. But it gets kinda crazy in the summer, with the shaving, foot care, skin care and so on.

However, this month I'm actually liberating myself from spending too much time on myself, LOL. I stopped shaving my thighs and sloughing my feet - this saves me 5-10 mins every morning, which I'm going to need now that the weather's colder and there are more layers to put on every morning.

Oh, and in the spirit of reducing my expenses, I did successfully switch from an all-Clarins facial regimen to an all-Avon Anew regimen, one product at a time. The Anew products are terrific, cost less than half of Clarins, and best of all, I don't need to set foot in a department store to buy them - the cosmetics & accessories counters are my biggest weaknesses!

I take about 25 minutes to get ready; basically I use cleanser and go light on the moisturizer as I have oily skin. I spend most of the time try to fix the mass of long curly hair I inherited!

I don't shave as I go for waxing appointments (yes, painful) but it saves me a lot of time in the mornings in the shower.

My eyebrows are in desperate need of plucking so this week my goal is to do that for myself!
