I don't post often. Sorry. I try to check the boards a couple times a week. lol Sometimes it feels like I will never get out of this rut. Still waiting on all of dh's pay to kick in. Next month he will have everything, promotions, family separation pay, etc, so next month I can actually start paying these bills like I want. Right now trying to live off dh's regular pay, paying bills here and feeding us,etc, and making sure dh has enough to eat on and have for his needs. Its tough. $400 a month goes to him and its frustrating and difficult esp since it was tight before he left. I didn't get to pay extra on credit cards this month just the min payments. I was heartbroken but gotta do what I can. I try to stay positive with everything but some days its just so depressing. Didn't get to put in savings either. Grrr!! I am determined to get through this so I haven't given up yet.lol

I'm still here, too. I check in and read every couple of days, but I haven't posted. Nothing good to report, it just gets worse and worse. Credit cards are maxed, mostly because of fees since I can't pay what I'm supposed to. I have a $400 propane bill to pay, but I had to have it for winter. We (dd and I) never buy meat or soda, I have one pair of jeans, and haven't had a new pair of shoes in two years. The basics are down to the minimums (tv, phone, etc.). I pick up overtime at work whenever I can, but since I'm already behind, it's like the overtime is just absorbed and hardly noticed at bill time. I've been looking for a second job, which would mean even more time away from my daughter, haven't found anything yet. She will be 16 in a month or so, and she's still a really good girl, so I hate to just bail on her and leave her alone too much (I work overnights). I haven't posted because everyone here seems to be making progress and doing well, and my story just isn't improving. I hate to be a downer, and I feel like I'm failing at where everyone else seems to be succeeding. I still want to buy a house in 2 1/2 years, but it's looking more and more impossible all the time. There's no way I can crawl out from under all of this and then save for a down payment. I can't even pay the normal every day stuff. Things stink.

Big hugs!!!!!!

I'm so sorry things aren't going very well for you financially. It sounds really, really tough, and I feel so bad for you. I wish I had advice, but all I can do is tell you that we want you on the board and want to hear from you, even if it's just so we can all give you virtual hugs.

I don't know that it's helpful to hear it from me, but I think it's always important to remember that we are so much more than our debt. Our lives are so much bigger than the numbers that we sometimes let define us. Your daughter is your most precious treasure, and your good relationship with her more valuable than all the greenbacks in the world. You are together and you are healthy (?), and that is worth so much.

Whenever I get frustrated or worried, I try to remember that. I also like to think of it the way an elderly German gentleman I crossed paths with briefly at a farmer's market plant sale one time said about my two little boys, "they are the most precious flowers you will ever grow."

Do what you can with the money. But don't let it eat you up. And stick around. Sounds like you could use a few more virtual hugs.

Blessings,

Heather

Well, still lurk and I try to post, but things have mostly just stalled for me. We're so close to having several of our bills on CCCS paid off (as a matter of fact at the end of this month), but it still seems like we have so far to go. DH still hasn't stopped his useless spending, but I don't let it get to me to much. I also hate posting with bad news when it seems that everyone else is getting so far and actually working their plans. I'm still homeschooling also, and that makes it harder to post. I will try to post more.
