Are you looking forward to Halloween this year, or are you seeing it as another holiday to drain your wallet/increase your debt? Are you giving out candy no matter the expense, or are you keeping your doors locked and your lights off?

Do you think Halloween is scary, or is Christmas scarier? (I once saw someone at a party with a Chritmas tree costume on.....my SO said, "I don't see what's so scary about a Christmas tree costume."......I told him it was scary because it just reminds you that Christmas is just around the corner!!!!!!!!)

Boo!

My kids are small. I don't put much thought into Halloween. Much less, add expense. For the past three years, we haven't gotten any trick or treaters. Therefore, I don't have any candy. And i don't put up decorations.

Yes I'm looking forward to Halloween. The only thing I spent money on was costumes for my 2 boys. I spent a total of $25. I never buy candy because I never give it out; I take the boys trick or treating. It helps that the apt complex I am living in doesn't allow you to put anything outside and our apt is sooo microscopic you couldn't fit anything in here anyway. It helps me not spend money so I'm not complaining lol

Christmas is a tad scarier but I won't be spending money on decorations except maybe window cling ons and dh and I decided that we weren't going to buy each other anything so that helps. We will only spend money on the boys and I already kinda know what I am getting them, and I figure I will spend around $100 altogether with their gifts. Not bad. I told dh I want out of debt so bad, not buying me anything would be gift enough and we can't think of anything we really want anyway.

I'm looking forward to Halloween because my boys are, otherwise I wouldn't give it a second thought! We don't decorate the house or anything. We live in a rural area, so we don't get many trick or treaters. We buy one bag of candy for the three trick or treaters that we do get, and eat the rest ourselves :o) The boys have a halloween party that they go to, and we'll be taking them trick or treating at my sister's.. They're costumes are inexpensive, homemade, and paid for with cash. I am REALLY looking forward to Christmas this year, because this is the first time in the 11 years I've been married that we have a Christmas fund in place!!! Yeah!!!!

I love Halloween & Christmas. We decorate the house - mostly with hay bales, pumpkin, corn stalks, etc. It lasts past Halloween that way. We bought the decorations prior to DH losing his job. I will buy a few bags of candy to hand out. We have a lot of little kids in our neighborhood and last year I ran out of candy. DD is only 4.5 months so she could care less. I do have a costume for her though.

I have $$ set aside for Christmas and told DH that since we are both unemployed the gifts for our families will be on the cheaper side this year. But we will still get everyone a little something - just not a $50 something, more like $10-20. We are not going to buy DD anything b/c she won't know the difference. We have a artificial tree so we will put that up. I probably won't buy any new decorations this year as we have no disposable income. I will just put up what we have. And I have tons of wrapping paper, bows, etc. left over from previous years. Hopefully it won't end up costing us too much.
