Halloween is coming(and so is Christmas)

Are you looking forward to Halloween this year, or are you seeing it as another holiday to drain your wallet/increase your debt? Are you giving out candy no matter the expense, or are you keeping your doors locked and your lights off?
Do you think Halloween is scary, or is Christmas scarier? (I once saw someone at a party with a Chritmas tree costume on.....my SO said, "I don't see what's so scary about a Christmas tree costume."......I told him it was scary because it just reminds you that Christmas is just around the corner!!!!!!!!)

My kids are small. I don't put much thought into Halloween. Much less, add expense. For the past three years, we haven't gotten any trick or treaters. Therefore, I don't have any candy. And i don't put up decorations.
MYM
Christmas is a tad scarier but I won't be spending money on decorations except maybe window cling ons and dh and I decided that we weren't going to buy each other anything so that helps. We will only spend money on the boys and I already kinda know what I am getting them, and I figure I will spend around $100 altogether with their gifts. Not bad. I told dh I want out of debt so bad, not buying me anything would be gift enough and we can't think of anything we really want anyway.
I have $$ set aside for Christmas and told DH that since we are both unemployed the gifts for our families will be on the cheaper side this year. But we will still get everyone a little something - just not a $50 something, more like $10-20. We are not going to buy DD anything b/c she won't know the difference. We have a artificial tree so we will put that up. I probably won't buy any new decorations this year as we have no disposable income. I will just put up what we have. And I have tons of wrapping paper, bows, etc. left over from previous years. Hopefully it won't end up costing us too much.
