I can't wait for the start of the new year!!! A fresh start, new and improved budgeting/worksheets, snowflaking, no credit cards, etc... Is anyone else with me? :o)

This year has been tough but I've came through and even though some things went wrong and I had setbacks but also feel like I've gained knowledge and strength from some of those things. I'm going to be wrapping up a few small debts and leftover interest over the next two months and then happy new year!

This morning I'm working on my 2005 Spreadsheet :o) I finally feel like I have it together, my plan is solid and goals are realistic, my ducks are in a row and they're ready to get quackin' :o)

Reflecting, how has 2004 been for you? What are you looking forward to financially in 2005?

Except for the birth of my beautiful DD, 2004 has been hard on us. My dad went through chemo and DH & I BOTH lost our jobs. I am looking forward to 2005. Our biggest financial goal right now is getting DH a new job. Then we will work on digging ourselves out of debt.

I feel the same way. 2004 hasn't been that great. Some stuff happened that was out of our control but next year we should be doing a lot better. Actually gonna be putting money in savings and paying of 1/2 of our cc (maybe more God willing). Gonna try to break the cc cycle and I think we can do it. Gonna try to pay for as much stuff as possible with cash and if we don't need it then we won't get it. I think it is very possible.

2004 has been a rough year for me; most I caused. Now, that I cut put all my cc and closed all of them. I hope to pay off 4K, maybe more in 2005. *raising glass* Heres to 2005.

2004 has been pretty great financially for us. By the end of the year, I'm thinking we'll have gotten rid of over half the non-house debt we started the year with. Part of this has come from getting new resolve (Financial Peace University classes/Dave Ramsey), and partly because we've busted our inski's to 'get 'er done!'

I'm happy that we've hit every single financial goal we set at the beginning of the year, even though there have been stumbles, setbacks, unexpected things, and our own sometimes hopeless attitude shining through.

In 2005 our goals are to pay off the last 2 credit cards before May (I graduate in May w/my 2-year degree) and the Blazer by November. Why such a hurry, you might ask? Because in December, all $12,110 of my student loans will come a'knockin! Then, we have until December of 2006 to get those paid off (or at least WAY down) because DH's student loans will come due. Yay...lol.

I think the new year will bring increased focus simply because we can see how close we're getting.

Honestly this has been our best year to date and we accomplished more than we hoped for.

We got very "gazelle like - Dave Ramsey" focused on becoming debt free before the end of 2004 and we managed to pay off the last $8500 we had on the Visa by June 24th, 2004.

It was like our anniversary gift to ourselves as we celebrated it on June 23rd.

We also had a board party here at Debt Support and it was yummy :)

More importantly we as a couple began to witness the positive power of communicating and working together towards our goals both in our relationship and our finances.

We began to save every month for our retirement and we will be taking our first trip together EVER in November!

We didn't get to have a honeymoon in 2001 because although the wedding was paid in cash we had nothing leftover for a trip and we still had too much debt.

We are looking forward to buying a used second car for my dh in the coming months...in cash. We are committed to never having debt again and we are intent on continuing to live beneath our means every day. I never want to feel the fear, cry tears and know the frustrations of being saddled with debt ever again!

So we're looking forward to 2005 to continue our life together having been blessed with so much and to create more wealth and prosperity.

I wish the same for everyone else on the board!

2004 has been a very good year for us despite my frustrations with not being to pay everything off faster.

You know, I don't really know how to classify 2004 - I've been in crisis mode for so long after DH lost his job in 2002 :o (WOW, it's been THAT long already??????) and I don't think we will ever get back on our feet.

Yes, definitely! My boyfriend is interviewing for jobs in my town (he lives 90 miles away right now) and we plan to live together in my house when he finds a job here. I am really happy and excited about our sharing our lives, and we will both be in way better shape financially as well. I only have one credit card, but it's a whopper of a debt (still over 18,000) and I will really be able to pay some huge payments on it.
