How much is your debt changing every month?

  • It stays about the same
  • It goes up
  • It goes down, but just by a few dollars
  • It goes down $100 - $500
  • It goes down $500 - $1000
  • It goes down over $1000

I voted 'down by a few dollars', but right now I am just trying to get the minimums paid and make sure the balance doesn't go UP. As soon as I get back to work, my repayment plan will be at least $250/mo; I'm hoping I will be able to swing $500/mo...that would get me out of debt in about a year.

Until we got on a DMP, it was only going up because our interest rates were so high. Now that our rates are reasonable (5-10%), we're paying the same amount every month ($1200) but the balances are finally going down, to the tune of about $900 a month.
