Left the house this morning and just shortly after leaving the apt grounds, noticed the service engine soon light on. I just had to go to the bank and decided to drive on over to the Suzuki dealership to see if they could fit me in. (A little background first: Its a 2001, bought in April after dh totalled my car, its our only vehicle, in June the engine died for no reason that they could tell and had a to drop a whole other engine in it took 3 weeks and had to rent a car the entire time, can we say outrageously expensive, only had a limited warranty so had to pay $500 on the engine to get it out of the shop which we didn't have so had to get an AER loan, have had 2 recalls on it already.)

They could have fit me in if I was willing to wait but I was sooo mad and had no patience that I decided to just make an appt at 0930 tomorrow. Just to tell me what is wrong with it will cost $70. I hope it is just something stupid that they can tweak and it be fixed. But that probaly won't be the case.

I wish a tree would just fall on it and total it so I can go buy a real vehicle. GRRRR! I have never ever dumped so much money and had so much trouble with a vehicle before and I have had 3 other cars, esp in this little amount of time. Man I wish you could exchange vehicle. Why can't you? Huh?

Can you buy a cheaper, older car? Can you get out from under your payments on this one? Seems like once a car starts showing that it has trouble, it ends up having lots of trouble. And anyway, you can save a *lot* of money on an older car if you buy wisely. You'll have repair bills from time to time, but not any more than what you already have on this one, and with a lower car payment (or no car payment), you'll be able to save to cover the repairs.

Also, have you considered going somewhere other than the dealership for repairs? My experience is that dealerships tend to be wildly overpriced.

Gotta run (crying 8-month-old), but I hope things look up soon. Sorry it's so frustrating.

Yes they are over priced but I haven't found any independant mechanics in this area yet that I trust. When I first moved here I took my camaro to this one because the coil went out and they fixed it but 2 weeks later I was back for the same thing and they didn't even offer to fix if for free, since it was their fault. (Its a long story but I got ripped off is the moral of the story) Plus its a Suzuki and I hope the Suzuki dealers know a little more about their vehicles since it's primarily what they see.
