Ok, so I posted last week that I felt discouraged and wondered if this would really work. I still feel a little skeptical -- not at debt reduction plan but with my own ability to stick to it. BUT, I did send off three checks today totalling 331.46 which paid off three department store accounts. I closed two of them. The other is my husband's home depot account which I will keep open because he uses it about twice a year for little stuff and wants to keep it. My home depot account, which was used for the bathroom remodel is just over $1,000. That is the next bill targeted because of the high interest rate. When it is gone I will close it.

I know this is progress and I now have 300 extra to apply to other, much, much bigger bills. Still, I can't help but feel like the road is so long. Oh well, Just wanted to post and tell about a small victory.

Oh ,and by the way, when did credit card companies raise their interest rates? I was at 11 percent on two and they both just went to 13.9 without ever being late or being over limit. Jenny

Congrats on paying off those credit cards.

Can you transfer your home depot account to another credit card? Perhaps with a lower interest rate.

You didn't mention what's the total amount you owe on credit cards. However, maybe you can transfer the balances into one credit card.

Just my two cents.

Good luck.

Yay you! Yep, you may not think you did a whole lot of good, but let me tell you--You sure did!

You now have $300 extra to throw at your Home Depot card. With that and a little more, you're gonna have another ZERO balance in a couple of months!

I know the beginning of our snowball was pathetic, lol-I paid off one thing that had a minimum payment and rolled it over to the next thing, and that added up to $45! Big Whoop. Know what, though? Now, our snowball is ~$300!

Just keep chucking...

Good on you-

Lisa :)
