I have been really depressed because of my debt not going down fast enough so I went ahead and added up my debts to get a real picture of my situation. At the beginning of this year my total debt was $26,377.12.

That's great progress. If you donh't mind me asking, how much do you apply each month to your debts? My list looks like yours although unfortunately the numbers are a bit higher. Jenny

Roughly, I pay the following:

Chase - every paycheck at least $500.00 = $1000 per month

Providian - min. due $88 , but I pay $100.00 per month

JcPenny - min. due $37, but I pay $100 per month

Bon Macy - min due $9 , but I pay $100 per month

Citibank - I only pay min. of $120 as 0% interest due to hardship deferrment until May of next year.

Just out of curiosity, why don't you pay off those smaller balances--JCP and Bon before focusing on Chase? I'm sure those interest rates are high, although I don't know what your interest is at Chase. Then, you could just wipe those off your list and put even more towards Chase. Just a thought--that's what I do with my debts. I'm sure you have a reason, but I'm curious.

The interest with Chase is the highest one.

That is great progress. The going seems to be slow when you look at it every month but you have accomplished a lot. Great job!
