This is an accomplishment for me, I get very antsy on the weekends. I just happened to be off both Sat. and Sun. which kinda scared me. At least when I'm at work we can't go on shopping sprees!! (DH won't take the kids by himself)

Well, we promised to take the kids to see "The Incredibles" (It was excellent by the way) so I had to spend money on that. But something happened that I couldn't believe. We got a statement from Citi (which has no balace on it since Feb -I just never cancelled it)--it had a CREDIT on it of $20!!! They have a new rewards program and somehow we qualified!! I was amazed- I had to go to my files and dig up the card and actually call to activate it since they sent us new a one months ago. So that's what I used to pay for the movies!:)

I also went to Walmart w/ my mother and saw Halloween costumes at 75% off. My ds is soo into dinosaurs and there was a cute winged ptyradactyl(?) costume that will fit him next year for $4.22 !!!!!!! I bought a few other clearance items- a big witches hat for 25 cents, a huge candy bowl and nice thick trick or treat bags for 30 cents!!! I just love bargains!!!

So I did pretty good this weekend I must say. But DH on the other hand, ordered (and charged) a $200 aluminum cargo carrier for the back of the Durango for deer hunting. THe whole thing is actually funny. He kept saying "You don't want stinky bloody deer in your vehicle do you?" Okay I can't argue with that. And then he went on about how it's his money too- and he really wants a $500 gun more. So he made me a deal- He told me he would buy the $200 carrier with free shipping (he actually said that) and I could have his Christmas money AND all of his extra paycheck for the cc. Or he would buy the $500 gun and I would get nothing. It was in a fun, joking way- but I'm taking the first deal- I think he has a right to get "stuff" he wants sometimes. It's just the real big stuff that I get psycho over (furniture, cars, guns) And I don't want deer guts in or on top of my SUV. LOL!

Nicki your post left me laughing... because it so could of been us you were writing about. First off I work every other fri, sat, sun so on those weekends we spent virtually no money, because like your family Dh wouldn't take the kids out by himself. Unfortunately my schedule recently changed and I now have payday weekends off, this spells disaster. Having money and DH and I off work together usually mends spending lots of money. Spending lots of money on hunting is another issue we have, fortunately for dh I hunt along with him so he usually get whatever he wants. On the other hand I always know it's coming so well before hunting season (we archery hunt so it's September for us) I always tell him to make a list of everything he is going to need to get ready that way I plan and budget for it, and there is no last minute suprises.

Good for you for not spending very much money this weekend. A trip to Walmart for under $10 bucks deserves some kind of award!
