Holiday Humbug? Maybe not...

Now, I don't mean to be a holiday humbug, but sometimes I'd just like to have the option of skipping a holiday. Sometimes I'm just getting started being CAUGHT UP either financially, houseworkwise, emotionally, healthwise, etc. and holidays come up and knock me off my stride.....and then the spending has to begin again, and I'm running around trying to make everyone else happy, and I would just like to have the option of NOT DOING a holiday every once in a while............do you know what I mean???????????????

I'd really like to skip Christmas this year....I can't afford it, and I have other things on my mind. I don't feel up to trying to get the cards done and all the shopping and everything.........I just want the day to myself to rest, and I just want to go to church and nothing else.......just this once???? Please??!!

I was really sick this past Easter.......I laid on the floor the whole day as sick as a dog, but it was just lovely to NOT have to get up and start entertaining everyone and driving around because it was Easter......It was the first holiday in years I could skip. (I have an elderly relative who expects I'm going to make their holiday for them EVERY holiday, and I just am tired doing it, but that's not the entire reason I want to start skipping holidays.)

Days to myself are so few and far between right now......................I'd really like to stay in bed all day on Thanksgiving....watch the parade, go back to sleep, but I can't...........

How about you?
