Thanksgiving Traditions and Moments

Does your family have a Thanksgiving tradition you enjoy like everyone having an assigned chore to get dinner ready, a special prayer, how crazy it gets when Uncle Fred visits, helping serve dinner to the poor, the Thanksgiving non-turkey dinner?

Is there something you do with your SO or by yourself every Thanksgiving that you enjoy or look forward to? I often find that my favorite moments of a holiday are not related to gift giving and food often, but maybe those moments alone enjoying the night air, a chance to catch up on rest, a holiday movie on TV, writing in my journal with a cup of tea and a couple cookies......Talking on the phone with friends about plans for the next holiday .......

What are your special Thanksgiving moments?

I haven't been back home for a Thanksgiving in many years, but I enjoyed the "kids" table with my cousins and the insane assortment of sweets for dessert.

All my best,

Hi!

The kids' table is one of my favorite memories! We could eat and laugh and "act up" without the adults bothering us! I loved it.

These days, my DH and I don't really have Thanksgiving traditions. He is an officer in the Navy, so we move alot, and every year is different. Last year , every single store & restaurant was closed, except for the gas stations, so we had gas station turkey sandwiches and Chips A'hoy cookies for our lunch! It was great! We just drove around all day in our Jeep, laughing and talking.

I have no idea what we will do this year.....but I'm sure it, too, will be a good memory.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!!
