Tonight, I'll be attending a free David Bach seminar sponsored by the bank I do business with. For those who don't know of him, he is the author of several books including "The Automatic Millionaire" & "Smart Women Finish Rich". I couldn't pass up free knowledge!
I've read a couple of his books and although I found a lot of what he says to be common sense and I've already read it before, for many people he's become the best thing since slice bread ;) He's been featured on Oprah a few times.
For those who are interested to know more, here is a link to his site: www.finishrich.com
Like many of the other personal finance "gurus" in that I find their websites slick with "self-advertising" many of the concepts he adheres to are fiscally sound. I just like the fact that my bank is actually willing to invite consumers to learn about saving and paying off debts and investing for their future and they signed a long-term partnership with him in order to educate Canadian consumers on personal finance and yes I'm very aware that the bank hopes to get new business from this :)
I'll post a follow-up of how I thought the seminar went.

Well I'm back from the seminar, and although he was quite entertaining I didn't learn much else than what I've read in the books.
From the reaction I saw from other attendees, I got the sense they thought it couldn't be that simple to manage your finances in the way he described.
At any rate, I'd encourage posters to at least borrow a copy of his books to know more about his philosophy and see if perhaps for someone that the contents would be useful to them.
