Happy December!

December is here! Which means a few things:

- I get 3 paychecks this month (pay is bi-weekly, which means twice a year we get 3 paydays in one month)

- I can pick myself up and start straightening out November's awful mess, and leave it behind.

- the Holidays are nearly here! Woo hoo!!!

- I get to look forward to the week I have OFF at the end of the month. Yay!

- I get to sit down and devise a new budget for the coming post-holiday months. Maybe I can get some money flowing into my savings account again.

I'm just happy - November was a financial nightmare and I am just hoping to get it behind me! I'm looking at my clean new December calendar, I guess just praying that things will start looking up again. :)

Good attitude!

I also get three paychecks in December, so will be able to pay my savings account back. I had to withdraw $500 from savings and put it in my checking account to cover some expenses. The expenses were planned, I'm just not making the money I usually do from my second income (teaching dancing).

And, I also get the last week off. Hey, who is this really? ;-) just kidding.

Do you have a plan for making December a good month financially, besides the extra paycheck?

Well, I DO have some Christmas presents to buy... but the third paycheck helps immensely. I'm hoping to put a little extra towards my bills this month, and perhaps kickstart the savings fund again before Jan. 1st. I used to contribute $70 bi-weekly to my savings, until I decided to use what was accumulated to completely pay off one of my student loans (it was only $750, but the monthly payments were a paltry $25 with an annual interest rate of 12% - it would have taken me years and a fortune in interest). It was a good move, but I never got back into the rythym of putting that $70/paycheck aside.

LOL - I was just thinking too that December kind of has a general "Friday" feel to it. Maybe because the holidays are so close and peoples spirits are up, or maybe because it is the last month of the year.

*shrug*
