Sad and sick of it all
| Thu, 12-23-2004 - 11:42am |
Well tha holidays are umong us and I have never been so unhappy about it in my life. We are so poor and people are harassing us left and right for money we don't have. Needless to say (for those of you who might remember)...my mom who needs to stop helping us because she just can't do it anymore has just received her Christmas present from my Dad...a Tiffanies Silver necklace...I am just sick about how people who complain about money have no right too. How about selling those not needed items and purchasing some coats for the homeless or womean's shelters....UHG sometimes I wonder if it is truely my family. My sister is following in those same footsteps where money is everything and I need more (keeping up with the Joneses)...Bah humbug sorry to rain on anyones parade!

Just wanted to send some cyber <> to you for this Holiday Season. This time of the year does seem to heighten feelings especially if you're feeling down.
I don't want to offer any advice or tell you that you should be doing this, that or the other.
I wish you and your family a prosperous and successful New Year.
Rachel

On Friday evening when your family turns in for the night, unplug your phones and just try to enjoy Christmas Day without harrassing phone calls and such. If you need to make a call to family on that day, just plug in one phone to make the call and unplug it when you're done. Give yourself a break from the harrassment if you can.
You're in my thoughts,
Patty
I really sympathize with your situation. I don't post often, but read the board daily, so I hope that I don't feel like a total stranger to you. I have a new philosophy on "keeping up with the Jones'". I AM the Jones'. Not in the traditional sense of having material posessions, but in knowing that my family is healthy, happy, strong and loving. I bet that there are more people out there who wish they could be like me than the other way around. We may have yucky debt that needs to be paid off and not as much money as other families we know, but in the end, does it really matter? I have learned to let those hard feelings go and just be my own person. Today only comes around once, so I am going to enjoy it because it will become tomorrow's memories and I want my family to cherish those more than some trinket or toy under the tree.
I hope this helps you at least a little bit. Although a lack of funds may still haunt you, at least some of the mental stress can be relieved.
Good luck and enjoy the holiday season.

Windy,
That was absolutely beautiful what you wrote about your family and how you view your current debt situation. Just learning to enjoy 'today' is a valuable lesson. One I'm slowly learning now that I'm getting a handle on my debt.
Thanks for sharing with us! Happy Holidays!
Patty :-)
