Christmas 'hangover'

I feel like I have a hangover, and the strongest thing I drank was Diet Coke.
Christmas isn't really my favorite holiday to start with, but this year, I feel like I was hit by the Christmas Train. We didn't really have a plan going in (big mistake, I know), and ended up spending too much, & breaking out the Target Card [-( on top of it all. I think we're going to restart our ING Christmas fund, and make it part of our budget for this next Christmas.
I just feel disappointed, I guess. If I would have been thinking, I would have tossed more snowflakes towards the Christmas fund. At least we can start fresh...
Part of my problem is that when we picked up my stepkids, they went on and on about what all they got for Christmas. I was amazed at some of the things that they got, and definitely by how MUCH they got! Holy cow. I felt bad because we didn't do that for our DD-although I don't think she would have wanted half of what they got. I do realize that what we are giving her is good too (the whole getting 'debt-free' thing is a wonderful gift, I know) and that in the end, what she learns is that it's not what we can GET, it's what we can GIVE that matters. Sigh. At least I keep telling myself that...
Thanks for letting me whine too. I think I'm feeling better. I'm going to go watch 'The Matrix' again and remind myself sometimes it's better to take the other pill sometimes (I haven't watched the movie in long enough that I can't remember what colors they are, lol)
