HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope this is a great year for us all! Let's take a moment to look ahead to better days and think about what we can do to get there. Even if we have not made resolutions, let's resolve to take better care of ourselves in every way we can. We are worth it!!!!!
Let's make TODAY the worst financial day of this year....Let's make TODAY our starting point and go up and up and up from here, even if it is just spoonfuls of dirt or baby steps or penny by penny.....WE CAN DO IT!!!!!!
Let's agree to meet here periodically and exchange our experiences and support each other on some of those backslide days.........we all have them, but we can recover and be stronger!
Let's enjoy our good days and successes and build on them. Even a day where not much is happening is still a good day, better than a bad day.
YOU CAN DO MORE THAN YOU THINK YOU CAN!!!!!!!! YOU ARE WORTH WORKING AND FIGHTING FOR!!!!! YOU DESERVE A GOOD LIFE, AND YOU WILL GET THERE WITH YOUR EFFORTS!!!!
HAPPY 2005!!!!!!!!!!
Best wishes from a positive thinking Littlesbigs.....................please join me!!!!!

Hey there! I'm with you, Littlebigs! I'm ready to face whatever 2005 brings my way. This year is definitely going to be better than last year because this time, my debt management will be done as a team with DH. No more guilt, no more hiding, no more stress.
Happy 2005!! :-D
Pat
Well here it is January 2nd, and already things are looking up - because after all, *yesterday* was a worse day financially than today will be! :)
DH and I are comitted to going all out with debt reduction, emergency cushion savings, and even some home improvement projects this year.
All my best,
Danni
I am all in it with you. DH and I got home late last night from Christmas vacation. We were supposed to return Wednesday, but got stuck in the ice storm that hit IN, IL, KY and TN. We couldn't go anywhere in 4 inches of solid ice and when we were finally able to get out, our car windshield had a crack that ran the entire length of the bottom. We had to get that fixed before we could return home because (according to the car dealer in TN) it is illegal to drive in KY with a cracked windshied. The good news is the car is under warranty and the car dealer (being a friend of my mother's) said he would fight with the company so we don't have to pay. Dh was ready to file with insurance but the windshield would have cost less than our deductible and I wanted the company to pay for it since our car had less than 8000 miles at the time. BTW, my mother's husband's car has well over 50000 miles and his windshield didn't crack, so I maintain it was a flaw the company should cover.
I also managed to dodge a bullet this new year. Yes, a finacial bullet dodged already. DH decided that we just had to have a bigger second vehicle, one with either all wheel drive or a 4x4 since we just survived the ice storm. We are expecting #3 in FEB and his car is too small (or so he says). He started looking at big SUVs and pricing them. He was up until well past midnight (after having driven 12 hours home) looking online. I finally got him to conceed to buy used (he was looking at new) and then we did a Kelly Blue Book trade-in value on his car and it was $3000 less than what we owe. He looked at me and said "well I guess we can live with what we've got." Yeah, I feel like he is finally realizing we can't afford everything he thinks we need. We've got a minivan, so I just don't see the need for an SUV for the few days a year it might snow and from what I understand, here in Kansas, they clear roads pretty quick and if the roads are bad, I don't want to be out anyway.
So, this was just to tell you 2005 is going to be a great year, and is already looking better than 2004. Now, if I could just kick this cold I have, 2005 will be great.
Hope everyone enjoyed their holiday, had a happy New Year's celebration and is ready to work hard in 2005.
Great to be back. I really missed posting and reading here. Thanks for all the support.
Kellie
