Amazing! More on my business...

There should be a "jaw dropping in amazement" icon! LOL

First, thank you to everyone who posted congratulations and encouragement on my decision to pursue my business idea. I really appreciate the support.

And as if that weren't enough, the universe seems to be conspiring to make this work. First, the company I wanted to approach about using their space called me a week before I had planned to call them, and asked me to do some work for them. They were very receptive to the idea of letting me use the space in exchange for some writing on their behalf. Then, a company I met with to interview for an article *offered* to help me put together my marketing materials in exchange for some copywriting--two big items marked off my to-do list!

Now, the new thing: I had been worrying just a little about how to handle my childcare needs as my business takes off. I had already decided not to commit to more than ten hours or so away from the house during regular business hours, so that I can continue to be the stay/work-at-home mom. But it's not possible in my line of work not to be gone at least some of the time, and while dh is very flexible in arranging to have the kids for an hour or two when I go to interviews for my freelance work, he was going to have a harder time asking for the kind of time I anticipate needing (currently it's only a couple hours a month, but may become as much as five or ten a week). Then last night, almost out of the blue, a family friend called and asked if she could come stay with us for a few months in exchange for acting as a part-time live-in nanny!!!! Whoa! She's deciding whether to go back to college or not, and in the meantime needs a place to stay (not at home lol) and think (and make a little money--she'll be "nannying" a few hours a week for room and board and working a regular job for cash).

Okay, if that's not a green light, I don't know what. So I guess I'd better get off this board and start busting my butt, because it would be a crying shame to let this alignment of forces go to waste!!

Thanks for listening and celebrating with me. Blessings,

Heather

When the time is right, the time is right! Good for you. It's exciting to see everything falling into place like that. Sometimes I think that we all overthink things, and try and get the situation 'just right' instead of letting go and letting the universe bless us!

Congratulations!

Lisa :)

I'm a big fan of "meant to be" - and this certainly seems to be that!

All my best,

Heather, congrats! You are doing exactly what I want to be doing by the end of the year. Your previous business was freelance copywriting. That is exactly what I want to do. I just am trying to get a small cushion before I make a decision to leave my current job. It's not always easy, considering I'm trying to do everything in the right way - knowing where to start and what to do is so scary to me when you don't have a job that is set in stone. I know that it can be done, but I am not always so courageous, also considering that I'm single and have no marital support. Whenever you have time, I'd love to hear any advice or stories that you can share about your experience. My email is slojuly@earthlink.net.

Congrats again...I'm very happy for anyone who can do this.

cheers,
