I am interested in what a family of 3 or 4 pays for groceries in NY. I am trying to budget for 70.00 a week, not sure if its realistic ( this is to include lunches for school( no microwave) and work

I live on Long Island where the cost of living is high :( and trying to stay away from pasta / rice dishes for health reasons

thanks

I have NO IDEA what NY groceries cost. Thank goodness I live in a relatively inexpensive part of the country (charlotte, nc), but then where *isn't* relatively inexpensive compared to NY? LOL

I did want to suggest, though, that you look around for a grocery surplus, or grocery salvage store. I can't imagine a place the size of NY doesn't have one. I'm just not sure how you would find it.

Good luck. And the "price book" strategy still applies, and in fact, you probably have lots of different stores relatively near by, so you should really be able to shop them against each other.

Did anyone think I could keep my fingers off a grocery question, even if it has to do with a part of the country I know nothing about?? LOL
