Tracking...

I have posted in the past about the fact that I could never seem to track spending. Several of you offered suggestions and I even downloaded some work sheets. I FINALLY found a ways that works for me and I thought I would mention it. We do most of our banking/ bill paying via the internet. I use ncr checks and do not use the ledgers that come with my checks. I review my account daily online so I usually have a pretty good handle on the activity and the account. So... I've started using the ledger to track my spending. My downfall in tracking was always keeping track of the day to day spending for things other than monthly bills. I find that I don't seem to mind writing the information in the ledger. Since I have to save all of my receipts (Changes in tax laws allows for me to use sales tax as a deduction on my federal return) For whatever reason, it is working.
