Happy Day!!!

Oh I'm so excited I"m shaking! I just went to Turbo Tax and prepared my tax forms. I can't actually file until Friday (the 14th) but they're done. And the calculated refund is higher than I thought it would be! woo hoo! The filing fees from Turbo Tax also kind of suck ($45 for Federal and State returns total) but at least you can take them out of the refund and not have to have a credit card. Anyway I'm thrilled. Now that I know the exact amount we have coming I can actually do a real budget and get everything all set up. We're going to pay off the car, pay a couple people back and just get back on track!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I feel like there is a bit of danger in getting this excited before they're filed (IRS still has to accept them, etc) but I can't help it. I'm just so relieved. And the idea of having our car paid off is so amazing!

Thanks for the cheers :) Last night I sat down to figure out the exact numbers for a budget and that felt good to do. I even set up a chart with a, whaddya call it, snowballing thing. Where you make minimums on all but one bill, when that's paid off roll that entire payment over to the next bill. I know how it works just not the right name for it! LOL

Anyway I'm happy and it's nice to have a little group of people here to cheer me on!

Way to go, sounds like it was a positive experience for you! And you will love it here with this group, I have been helped so much!! Thank you everyone for your help!! I come every day to see what is going on and can't believe how much support everyone has been, I hope that I can help someone out even a fraction of what I have been helped.

And you got it right, snowballing! Have you checked out the chart! It really can be an inspiration. Great job to you, keep up the good work!

deciding to be happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect, but that you had decided to look beyond the imp

I have good news also !! I had requested an increase on my credit card so I can roll the balance of the other card onto this one to take advantage of the low apr% until July of this year , then I plan on rolling it back onto another card for another low apr offer . I was approved today . Also I turned 29 today , so now hopefully I can say the worst is behind me !! I am going to apply for the union card offer that I recieved in the mail todaybecause there is a fixed apr of 5.9 until the balance transfer is paid off . That is the best deal I have ever gotten , hopefully it will pan out for me . I have a feeling that snowballing will become very addictive for me .
