Are you still planning on going? I was snooping on Disney's website, and since it's their 50 year anniversary- there are deals! You can plug in what resort you want and number of days for tickets and it will give you a price. The cheapest time to go is after Aug.31. It saved us so much money and it wasn't that crowded. We went on Sept 11- just missed one of the hurricanes! We stayed at the (moderate)Carribean Beach Resort. There were just 2 beds. I know you need more room with your kids.
I'm looking into the Wilderness Lodge. For a family of 4, 7 days with a 5 day magic pass would be $2,469.30. It's a high price resort- like the Contemporary. We went there to see a show and I fell in love. To stay at Port Orleans (moderate) would be $1,045.94. These prices, I feel, aren't that bad. Unfortunately, I just went- and am not going again for about 3-4 years until our house is built.
I can't stress enough how much you will save by going off season- it was well worth it to me to pull my kid out of school for a week.
Enough of my rambling, I just loved that trip so much and miss Disney- it was worth every cent (even though dh's parent's paid for most of it) but if they didn't force me to go- I never would have!(afraid to fly!)

I know you werent' talking to me lol but those prices aren't bad. I wanted to go this year but if I go anywhere for a family vacation, using that term very loosely, I will probaly go to Wisconsin to see my brother since its been a couple of years and then go sightseeing in Chicago. I originally wanted to go to Disney but money wasn't looking that great and I miss my brother and my niece and still haven't met my nephew lol. I do want to go to Disney some year during Christmas break. That would be a great Christmas present for my kids. lol

That's okay! Anyone can answer this post- I just know Becky has been wanting to go so bad and was planning on it soon.

I kept telling my dh that we couldn't afford it because I wanted to pay off debt (and I was terrified to fly for the first time)- but I did agree with him, you do have to live your life besides the debt and fears. That was our first vacation in 8 years, our anniversary is today by the way:)!
Who knows what could happen in year or two, or a day or two for that matter. Someone told me Disney will always be there for us to visit later,..... but maybe I won't !!!! We saved up for it and didn't charge anything. Our kids had a blast. It was money well spent. Just like you visiting your family-- money well spent. You never know what could happen.
