Part of my household organization project is to TRY to organize my mind, too....so I was cutting coupons tonight and trying to prepare them (organize them) so I can take them to the store with me next time I go. All of last year, I kept forgetting to bring them. So discouraging....well, I am trying to create snowflakes to pay off these debts, so this will help, but not if I keep forgetting them. I am thinking of putting my coupon organizer folder in a bag to keep in the car or my work bag that I always go out with. I seem to end up at the store right after work, so I don't have them with me. I purposely had a small purchase ($13) tonight when I went to the store after work (bad weather and a banking problem that had to be resolved before the bank closed at 7PM prevented me from stopping home for the coupons) because I kept thinking about those coupons. I hope to get out and use them tomorrow night or the weekend....
I am on Night 3 of the household organizing project....tonight I filled 2 bags up with more paper to be tossed out (old paperwork, magazines, newspapers), and I am going to donate 2 scarves and a skirt. Still doesn't look like I have done anything to the apartment yet....but I am creating space even if in small spaces right now. I found a couple more unused binders for organizing my personal paperwork.(I'll add the money I saved not buying new ones again to my snowflake pile). After looking at piles of my stuff in one of the closets tonight, I just have no urge to go out to the mall and bring back more stuff to refill the closet. As you know, I am trying to gain multiple benefits from this project, and I have to say that when I make the effort, it really seems to work wonders on my urge to shop shop shop.
Looking for snowflakes that are not outside and on my car....Littlesbigs

I did the same thing today! I only buy the newspaper on Sundays, and never get around to looking through it until Tuesday or Wednesday. I cut my coupons today, and will grocery shop tomorrow morning.
Also threw out a ton of papers...dh asks me why the trash seems to be multiplying. I'm a flybaby. Only for a week, not too good at it yet, but working on it. I even get my older daughter involved in a 5 minute room rescue, but I don't do everything. Anyway, rule of our house: I fill the garbage bags, dh has to take them out. I am working on the little things, like getting my 5 yo to leave her shoes by the front door instead of tracking across the carpet with snowy shoes. Frequently we are looking for her shoes in the morning..... Heather
Oh do I hear you on this! I truly think if my household is more organized, then we won't spend money needlessly buying dulplicates, using coupons/sales flyers and more! Trying to develop routines that work for our family, but allow flexibility for fun!
Anyway, I see babysteps in the right direction and I just need to not be discouraged that I'm not seeing IMMEDIATE change...
Just keep swimming, just keep swimming :-)

Dear Gidget,
You get it! I know that I'm not going to see results right away(cleaning and paying down debt), but I am trying to create a foundation for success. The change in behaviors is a good start, and it doesn't cost anything! (And I do admit, cleaning/purging/tossing is starting to be more fun to do....I am finding interesting things along the way, but right now I can oly do it in small spurts.) Littlesbigs
